INAUGURAL PROBLEM SOURCING COHORT

Source your
own problems.

Source your own problems. A half-day training on June 24, 2026 for Advanced Educators on building, qualifying, and sustaining independent DoW problem pipelines at the university level.

WHY THIS MATTERS

The H4D problems your students work are only as good as the pipeline behind them. For Advanced Educators, the next ceiling on program quality, sponsor depth, and student outcomes is sourcing: your ability to find, qualify, and steward the right problems independently of any central feed.

This day treats sourcing as a long-term institutional capability. The relationships, practices, and infrastructure that live at your university and get stronger every year. Where DoW problems originate, and how to move through that terrain deliberately. How to qualify a problem before the syllabus is set. How to build the scaffolding (clearance, contracts, IRB, faculty lines, internal advocates) that makes the work repeatable. How to build sponsor relationships that hold instead of contact lists that decay.

You leave with a draft playbook, a 90-day action plan for AY26-27, and a cohort committed to holding you to it through the virtual follow-on sequence. Next year, and the year after that, the problems coming into your classroom are the ones the country actually needs solved.
