Alex Gallo, Executive Director of the Common Mission Project, sees the Board of Advisors as a tremendous opportunity for growth. “Going forward, the Common Mission Project intends to expand its reach to confront critical problem areas in a variety of fields,” he states. “Our Board of Advisors is made up of accomplished leaders in a wide range of sectors. With their support, we will  use entrepreneurship to solve problems in defense and beyond.”

Alex also emphasized the importance of the broader entrepreneurship network in the expansion of the organization: “We want to hear from other Mission-Driven Entrepreneurs out there solving critical public problems — how can the Common Mission Project support your mission-driven efforts?” To share your ideas, contact the Common Mission Project at: admin@commonmission.us

The launch of the Board of Advisors will enable the Common Mission Project to create an international network of entrepreneurs driven to solve the critical challenges of our time — from national security to natural disasters and from energy to the environment.

At the inaugural Board of Advisors meeting, Pete Newell, Chairman of the Common Mission Project’s Board of Directors and co-founder of CMP, welcomed the group and described the process of launching Hacking for Defense at Stanford University five years ago. He sees the course and the Common Mission Project as a way to give young men and women the opportunity to solve the critical problems of our time through an entrepreneurial, problem-based approach.

Echoing Peter Newell’s sentiments, many of the Advisory Board members stated this mission drew them to the Common Mission Project and see their involvement as a way to solve our seemingly intractable problems and engage young people in national service.

The Board of Advisors is led by Chair France Hoang, a military veteran entrepreneur who has been on the founding teams of companies that have generated over $600 million in combined sales and employed over 1,200 professionals across the fields of law, aerospace, defense, government services, and technology. As Chair, he will work closely with the Common Mission Project Executive Director and will facilitate Board of Advisors meeting discussions. The Common Mission Project’s accomplished Board of Advisors includes Kari Bingen, Bob Daigle, Richard Fontaine, Gregory Glaros, Peter Krow, Chris Moran, Tom Nelson, Jackie Space, Dr. Steven Spear, Curtis Valentine, Peter Villano.

This group of dedicated leaders will convene quarterly to enlarge and support our network of mission driven entrepreneurs. To share your ideas on areas of expansion for the Common Mission Project, contact the Common Mission Project at admin@commonmission.us
